interview competition
I overheard a classmate talking today about an interview that they have - an interview that happens to be at the same place as one of my interviews.
I don’t think I can say that I dislike anyone that I know in my class. Most people are super fantastically nice, and the rest don’t rub me the wrong way. I’m not surrounded by obnoxious gunner types this semester, and most people...

OT: The hardwood flooring there is GORGEOUS. Good luck studying! :)
Thanks! This is the first time I’ve ever lived with hardwood floors and I love them. Besides being nice to look at, they’re great for someone like me who gets the urge to move all the furniture around every few weeks. ;-)
The only downside is that they’re...

big kid preparation
You have been chosen to interview for the position of law clerk.
asdjklfjklajdf WHAT. I have an interview with a law firm for this summer. Where I would work M-F, 40 hours a week, (did I mention at a real law firm?), for more than minimum wage, where I would meet attorneys, where I could get real life experience, where I could continue to work part-time during the school year.
I think I’ll...

Rochambo is kind of pretentious, but they have great coffee and great music. Brewing Grounds has been my favorite lately since it’s decent coffee and very cheap. Roast is always wonderful! And the Alterra on Humboult is my favorite out of Alterra.
Thank you! =) I’ve especially been meaning to go to Rochambo, but I can never find a parking...

Roast is a good one.
I went there this morning and I loved it. Good music, friendly baristas, and an honest-to-god place to park that I think was actually legal. I will certainly be going back! I also love that I can use the interstate to get there instead of winding my way through the East Side, because I tend to get utterly lost.

MKE people?
I have a brief to write this weekend, and I need awesome coffee shop recommendations.
This is cliche, but I didn’t ask for your opinion on how lame I might be. My neighbors are loud, my apartment is cold, and let’s face it, I gotta lot of shit to do.
Criteria include being able to find a place to park, being able to find a place to sit, and good coffee. Hipsters are acceptable, but...

contrary to my initial impressions,
living next to a hotel is actually really fascinating.
The things that people take into their rooms with them, the conversations that they have in the parking lot (and outside my bedroom window), the way that the amount of time they spend fixing their parking job depends on how expensive of a car they drive, the way that people drop things and trip over their own feet and fall down the stairs.

What do I have stuck in my head right now?
That stupid quote about FDR and Justice Roberts - “the switch in time that saved the Nine”.
SCOTUS, get out of my head. alkdjflkaf law school angst.

It seems wildly ironic
that the law that “prohibits the transportation of women in interstate commerce for immoral purposes” is named the Mann Act.
